About
“There is immense power when a group of people with similar interests gets together to work toward the same goals.” - Idowu Koyenikan
My mission is to showcase, collaborate with, and make space for local and lesser-known creators.
I have been fortunate to work with a talented and dedicated group of artists throughout my career. I thought, how great would it be to create a space for all of these people to come together and find common ground between us all? Fiber artists, in particular, have numerous places in Chicago and the surrounding areas to source various supplies and materials, but very few comfortable and accessible spaces for them to meet, craft, and stay awhile. At Cobblestones, this matter will be addressed by providing ample, comfortable seating throughout the shop, a dedicated cafe area with abundant table space and seating, bright (but cozy) light for maximum project visibility, and quality food and refreshment.
Classes, products, and services will be geared mostly toward fiber artists, but community events like game nights and book clubs will also be hosted. I am collaborating with local artists to feature mediums like art, jewelry, and even live music in the shop.
I am so grateful to be surrounded by a wildly creative and supportive group of people. I am ready and excited to give back and to continue to build these invaluable relationships. Cobblestones won’t just be another yarn store, it’ll be a place to build community. Doors are projected to open Spring 2027.
